Costa Foundation recognises outstanding Scoffs Group team member with a trip to Vietnam.
Scoffs Group is delighted to announce that Chelsea Carter was selected to see first-hand the amazing work the Costa Foundation is doing for coffee-growing communities in Vietnam. Chelsea was the Store Manager at our Stowmarket store but has recently been promoted to the role of Operations Manager Designate. Chelsea was handpicked out of thousands of Costa Coffee team members for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
On the 12th of March 2023, Chelsea and the team embarked on a five-day visit to the Costa Foundation's work in Vietnam. As part of the trip, the group visited nursery schools in the Dak Lak provenience of central Vietnam, meeting both children, parents of the children and teachers at schools that the Costa Foundation has built over the past five years.
Chelsea and the team also attended the opening ceremonies of some of the newest schools built by the Costa Foundation across Vietnam. The visits highlighted the difference the charity is making in improving access to education for children across coffee-growing regions.
Speaking about the trip, Chelsea said: "Visiting Vietnam and seeing the amazing work of the Costa Foundation and to meet the children in the schools was an incredible experience. I feel truly privileged to have been chosen for this trip and to be able to see how our hard work over the years is helping children in Vietnam.
Education is one of the greatest gifts you can give to someone, as it gives people hope and the opportunity to achieve great things in life. I am proud to support the Costa Foundation which is making a positive contribution to coffee-growing communities globally and this visit has inspired me to fundraise even more!".
The Costa Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of improving the life chances of children in coffee-growing communities by helping them access a safe, quality education.
In 2022 alone, the Costa Foundation completed five new schools and ten schools' expansions, with six new schools under construction across the world's coffee-growing regions. Additionally, two new programmes of work also started in Zambia and Ethiopia. For 2023, seven new schools are planned to be completed across Ethiopia, Colombia, and Peru, whilst adding extra facilities and expanding six schools across Uganda, Zambia, and Ethiopia.

We're delighted to announce that Jim Williamson has joined Scoffs Group UK as its new Chief Financial Officer. Jim joined the multi-unit award-winning Scoffs Group on the 3rd of April 2023. Scoffs Group is the UK's largest Costa Coffee Individual Franchise Partner along with Miss Millies fried chicken and further blue-chip partnerships to be announced soon.
Jim will lead Scoffs Group’s end to end financial operations and prepare the business for our accelerated growth ambitions. Jim previously worked for England Golf as their Finance Director and has built and led finance and general management functions across many organisations including Travis Perkins PLC, Coles Supermarkets based in Australia, Marks & Spencer and Costa Coffee.

Scoffs Group becomes the official sponsor of B.I.G. Football Club's Women's Team

Scoffs Group is delighted to announce that it has become an official sponsor of B.I.G (Believe, Inspire, Grow) Football Club Women's Team for their Super 5 League 2023 season. The agreement will see the Group become the official front-of-shirt sponsor with the Scoffs Group logo printed on all strips, home, away and third kit, worn in competitive action by the club at all levels.
Scoffs Group's decision to sponsor B.I.G. FC was inspired by its own company composition. 53% of employees in managerial roles at Scoffs Group are female, and the Group is an equal opportunity employer. Its commitments to increasing the opportunities available to women, especially those from the BAME community and its desire to inspire women to be the best version of themselves were major factors in the decision to sponsor B.I.G. FC.

A fantastic night celebrating all our team’s continuous hard work at Scoffs Annual Awards that took place at the St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton on the weekend. This is the first time we have held the event in person since the pandemic. It was great to celebrate the achievements of the fantastic talent in Scoffs.

We're thrilled to announce that Luke Daines has joined Scoffs Group UK in the newly created role of Group Operations Director. Luke joined the multi-unit award-winning Scoffs Group on the 6th of January. Scoffs Group is the UK's largest Costa Coffee Individual Franchise Partner and also has multi-site deals with Miss Millies Fried Chicken, opening its first store in 2022.
Luke will lead Scoffs Group’s end-to-end operations, from our established brands, such as Costa and Miss Millies, to our future operational partner brand developments. Luke previously worked for Costa as Retail Franchise Lead for the south working with thirteen franchise partners and upholding the Costa brand standards and relationships for over 300 stores.

PRESS RELEASE: Scoffs Group opens 113th Costa Coffee store in Falmouth
Scoffs Group, the largest franchise partner of Costa Coffee in the UK, is delighted to announce the opening of their 113th Costa Coffee store in Falmouth at 51 Market Street, Falmouth TR11 3AB on Monday, 31st October. This store has relocated from the original site at 35 Market St, Falmouth TR11 3AR, and it continues the investment that Scoffs Group has made in Cornwall.

PRESS RELEASE: Scoffs Group opens first Miss Millie's store in Southampton
Scoffs Group UK is pleased to announce the opening of their first Miss Millie’s Fried Chicken store on the 7th of September 2022 at 95 Above Bar in Southampton.
The Southampton store is the first store opened as part of a ten-store deal with Miss Millie’s to open locations within Southampton, the South, the Southwest and Essex regions. For Scoffs Group UK, it signals the company’s transition from a single to a multi-brand franchise business. For Miss Millie’s, it launches the brand’s expansion into a new geographical region.
The new restaurant was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony officiated by the Mayor of Southampton Councillor Jacqui Rayment.

PRESS RELEASE: Scoffs Group’s expansion into Cornwall continues with the purchase of ten corporate Costa Coffee stores
We are delighted to announce that we have acquired ten additional Costa Coffee stores, expanding our business in the Cornwall region and welcoming the stores and team members into our Scoffs family. These ten stores were previously owned and operated by Costa Coffee and we are pleased to have worked closely with them to ensure a smooth transition for our team members and customers.
We’re also pleased that the same team members will remain working in the stores and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such talented and passionate baristas. To help welcome our new colleagues into our family, the Scoffs leadership team have been spending time visiting the store teams and handing out 'welcome' gifts, such as own branded Scoffs cakes, bundles of sweets and a bottle bubbly or two.
In addition to the nine stores we purchased in February and our new Costa Van Cornwall, we now operate twenty stores in the region. Across the UK, we own and operate a grand total of 111 Costa Coffee stores, cementing our position as Costa Coffee’s largest UK franchise partner. Our growth in Cornwall is not limited to our existing stores, however. We have a strong pipeline of new stores coming to the region, helping us deliver more great coffee and food to the people of Cornwall and creating further jobs across the county.

Paul will be instrumental in Scoffs Group’s next phase of accelerated and exciting growth plans. Paul comes with a wealth of experience, working with large blue-chip retail and QSR businesses culminating in the support and leadership of more than 350 Costa Coffee stores and a headcount of over 4,000 employees.
Paul said, "I am delighted to be joining Scoffs at such an exciting time of growth. Over the next few weeks and months, I will be working closely with the teams, listening to all thoughts and ideas and getting to know everyone across the business”.
